Our mission is to create products that improve medical outcomes.

We’ve brought hundreds of medical devices to market that enhance health outcomes worldwide. Please enjoy some of our Case Studies below.

Verb Surgical’s Digital Surgery Platform

Pioneering the Future of Digital Surgery

Problem: Verb Surgical aimed to revolutionize surgical procedures, but traditional technologies lacked the precision and integration needed for optimal patient outcomes. HaA PD collaborated with Verb to develop a next-generation robotic platform designed to enhance surgeon control and patient safety.

Solution: Our team created a cutting-edge digital surgery system, integrating robotics, precision instrumentation, advanced visualization, user input devices, and real-time data analytics. This platform delivered unprecedented haptic feedback and control, improving surgical precision and leading to safer, more effective outcomes.

Insulet’s Omnipod

Simplifying Electrical Connections for Cost Efficiency

Problem: Insulet's core product was too costly to manufacture, putting its market viability in jeopardy. HaA PD stepped in to redesign the product, aligning manufacturing and design to drastically cut costs and streamline production.

Solution: By introducing a 2-shot molding process for the chassis, we eliminated the need for soldering and automated electrical routing, reducing manufacturing costs from hundreds of dollars to less than $10 per unit. This innovation cut assembly time by over 50% and turned a financially unfeasible product into a market-ready success.

Smith and Nephew CDS system

Innovative Solution for Disc Repair

Problem: Clinicians previously relied solely on patient feedback during spinal disc procedures, leading to inconsistent results and a high risk of paralysis. Smith & Nephew needed a solution to automate fluid delivery and provide real-time disc pressure data, ensuring safer, more reliable outcomes.

Solution: We developed the Smith & Nephew CDS System, automating fluid delivery while providing real-time disc pressure monitoring. This groundbreaking system reduces risks, improves efficiency, and ensures consistent, data-driven results.

Its affordable, low-cost disposable design and autoclavable remote enhance safety and reliability, revolutionizing disc repair procedures.

RadiaDyne’s Oncology Tools

Advancing Prostate Cancer Treatment

Problem: Radiation oncologists face challenges in protecting critical organs and monitoring doses in real-time. RadiaDyne, in collaboration with HaA PD, sought to address this with an innovative solution, improving patient outcomes while reducing procedure time and costs.

Solution: Starting from a napkin sketch, we helped develop RadiaDyne’s IP, creating advanced radiation oncology tools that offer virtual real-time in-vivo dose monitoring, improving stability and safety during therapy. This innovation not only enhanced care but also led to RadiaDyne’s $150M acquisition by AngioDynamics.

Boston Scientific’s Transbronchial System

Enhancing Usability and Reducing Costs

Problem: Boston Scientific's original aspiration procedure for lung biopsies was complex, requiring a surgeon, nurse, and technician, with a two-handed device prone to detachment, kinking, and sample loss—costing $10,000 an hour in the operating room.

Solution: We designed a single-handed aspiration system with offset needle actuation and a syringe vacuum. This streamlined the process to require only one person, cutting staff needs, reducing OR time, and significantly lowering manufacturing and operational costs while improving control and outcomes.
