IV Catheter - nCompass
The NP Medical nCompass is the successor to NPatch, an IV catheter designed for ease of use and effectiveness.
Inserting a needle into a patient can be a process riddled with too many steps and too many parts. It requires delicate precision and practice for caregivers to ensure that patients are comfortable and getting the care they need. Often times, securing the catheter to the body with tape is not strong enough and can result in kinking or uncontrolled movement of the tubing.
Through research and watching clinical trials, the source of these problems can be better identified and neutralized over the course of HaA’s design process. It was determined that much of the catheter insertion, stabilization, and dressing process is taken up by the staging of multiple components and properly aligning them to fit together.
Knowing this, the team at HaA heavily emphasized the time saving aspect of the NPatch. A larger surface area was added for better securement and a 180 degree fluid pathway to prevent kinking. Aspects of this design were carried over into NCompass.
By implementing designs to ensure easy fitment and stability without kinking, HaA was able to deliver on a product that aligned with NP Medical's company values.
